How we research
What we use
A published review starts from the manufacturer's specs and manual, then from what owners repeat when they talk about the same machine. We name those sources on the review once real products are in the guides.
Scores, when a review has them, are our reading of that material. They are not a lab measurement and they are not a count of stars from a store page.
What we do not claim
We do not claim hands-on testing we did not do. If a guide has no kitchen test, it will say so.
Draft preview pages use made-up names and are not research. They are not part of the published site.
How a comparison is built
A comparison page lists who each pick is for, a table of the same fields, the score breakdown, pros and cons, and a note on how the set was chosen. Each criterion is scored from 0 to 10 with a short rationale and a source. The overall score is calculated from the weight table on this page.
Score weights
Each criterion is scored from 0 to 10. The overall score is the weighted sum, rounded to one decimal. It is calculated when the site is built, and it is not typed into the product file.
| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| Capability | 25% |
| Ease of use | 20% |
| Cleanup | 15% |
| Build and reliability | 15% |
| Value | 15% |
| Support and app | 10% |
These weights apply to every category unless that category lists its own.
