Smart multicookers and pressure cookers
Instant Pot Pro vs Pro Plus: what the 6-quart Wi-Fi step adds
The Pro 6QT and Pro Plus 6QT are both 1,200 W, 6-quart Instant Pots. The Pro Plus page adds Wi-Fi, an app, and a different feature list. This is a reading of those pages and one published review, not a hands-on test.

Both of these are current 6-quart Instant Pot multicookers. The useful difference is not the wattage. It is whether you want Wi-Fi and the Instant Connect app. This note reads the current shop pages, the US collection prices, the Amazon.com listings, and one 2024 Tom's Guide review. We did not cook with either pot. The scored comparison is best smart multicookers and pressure cookers.
What the pages say is the same
On 1 October 2026 both shop pages listed a 6-quart pot, 1,200 watts, 120 V, 60 Hz, and UL and ULC listing. Both warranty blocks are a 1-year limited warranty, and both pages date that text 1 May 2025. Both include an extra sealing ring and a stainless steamer rack. Neither page describes air frying.
The Pro page claims it preheats 20% faster and cooks 70% faster than traditional cooking methods. The Pro Plus page claims it cooks up to 70% faster than traditional slow cooking. Those sentences are the maker's claims. This site did not time either cooker.
What you get on the Pro
The Instant Pot Pro 6QT feature list names 10 functions: pressure cook, slow cook, sous vide, sauté, sterilize, yogurt, rice, bake, steam, and keep warm. The description above that list says 28 customizable programs and 5 favorites, shown on a large LCD. The feature list says the lid and the inner pot are dishwasher safe, and that steam release is a switch with a diffusing cover. The spec block gives the size as 13.0 in long, 12.7 in wide, and 12.8 in high. The page does not describe Wi-Fi or a phone app.
Instant Pot's US multi-cooker collection listed this model at $169.99 on 1 October 2026. Amazon.com ASIN B08PQ2KWHS is titled Instant Pot Pro 6 Qt and lists model 112-0123-01. That page showed $169.99 as the new-condition price sold by Amazon.com, and a separate Amazon Resale offer at $125.95. The shop page still does not print the model number. The match is the title plus the feature list. Prices move. Use the button for whatever Amazon shows now.
What the Pro Plus adds, on paper
The Instant Pot Pro Plus 6QT page is the Wi-Fi model. It says you pair it with the Instant Connect app and claims 2,000+ guided recipes. It says you can release steam from a button or from the app, and it names that system WhisperQuiet. The 10 functions on this feature list are pressure cook, slow cook, sauté, steam, sous vide, can, rice, yogurt, NutriBoost, and keep warm. Bake and sterilize are on the Pro list. Canning and NutriBoost are on the Pro Plus list.
The inner pot is described as tri-ply stainless with a thick aluminum core, and the page says it can go on a stovetop or in an oven up to 350°F. Cleanup on this feature list is the inner pot and accessories, not a sentence that the lid is dishwasher safe. The size block is 13.2 in long, 13.0 in wide, and 12.7 in high. The collection listed it at $229.99 on 1 October 2026, sixty dollars over the Pro on that same page.
Amazon.com ASIN B08TMTJZ8L is titled Instant Pot Pro Plus 6 Qt and lists model 112-0124-01. The title says the cooker sterilizes. The shop feature list names canning, not a sterilize button. The page text retrieved that day did not include a selling price, so this post does not state an Amazon price for the Pro Plus.
What one published test reported
Tom's Guide published a Pro Plus review on 20 September 2024. Erin Bashford cooked sticky rice, a curry, dried chickpeas, yogurt, and a crème brûlée, and started a cook from the app. The article price was $199, not the $229.99 on the collection page in October 2026. The reviewer wanted a temperature monitor for sous vide and yogurt, said that unit released steam on its own with no manual release, and measured a pulse release at 82 dB. The inner pot was the dishwasher-safe part, and the reviewer still washed it by hand. Rice preheat was about 10 minutes, which the timer did not include. The reviewer would buy the Pro Plus for the app, and pointed buyers who do not want Wi-Fi toward a Duo Plus or a Rio.
That is Tom's Guide's test, not ours. The current shop page says steam can be released from a button or the app. The 2024 review said that unit had no manual release. Both sentences are in the sources. This post does not decide which one a cooker on a shelf today will do.
Recorded specs
The table repeats the spec lines stored on each product page. The price sentences in those lines were written from the collection on 30 September 2026. The same two collection prices were still on the page on 1 October 2026.

Which page to open next
If the app is the reason to spend more, start with the Pro Plus research review. The shop page documents Wi-Fi, a claimed recipe library, and button or app steam release. The 2024 review used that app and still wanted a temperature readout. It is not an air fryer.
If you want the programs on the cooker and you do not want an app, the Pro page is the one that does not describe Wi-Fi. It is the model with bake and sterilize on the feature list, 28 programs, and the lower collection price. It does not have its own review page yet. It is in the same comparison, which also includes the Duo Plus the Tom's Guide reviewer named as a non-Wi-Fi alternative.
How those scores are built is on How we research. A score there is a reading of this kind of material. It is not a result from our kitchen.
